BAGUIO CITY — A local road project is now benefitting farmers in two barangays of Aparri, Cagayan.

The DPWH Cagayan 1st District Engineering Office reported the improvement of connectivity between Barangay Navagan and Barangay Binalan with the completion of a 517.97-lineal meter concrete road.

Cagayan First District Engineer Oscar G. Gumiran said the P9.78-million road project was completed through funds under the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

“With the construction of a two-lane road, local farmers can now transport their goods more efficiently. The reduced travel time ensures agricultural products arrive in markets in optimal condition,” said Mr. Gumiran.

“The completion of the project underscores DPWH’s commitment to enhancing both economic and social well-being in rural communities,” he added. — Artemio A. Dumlao
